Length: 9.1 km | Approximate time: 3.5-4 h | Difficulty: Medium | Type: Circular
Although the first section of this route runs along a concrete track, you will soon enter a magnificent forest of native trees on the way to Julacienda, where you will find the detour to Cueva Oscura, an impressive natural cave where the local cheese makers mature the tasty and prestigious Gamonéu cheese.
Although tourist visits to this cave are restricted, it is worthwhile to climb up to the viewpoint located just in front of the entrance, as it offers impressive panoramic views of Onís and the Sierra de Hibéu.
It is a route that runs mostly on gravel and concrete tracks, except for a small uphill section on a stone path.

RECOMMENDATIONS
- We recommend bringing water and sunscreen in summer, especially for children.
- Remember to carry poles, which can be of great help in descents, stony or muddy areas and warm clothes and raincoat for higher altitudes. In the mountains, the weather can suddenly change abruptly.
- Perhaps on this route you will find a mastiff dog protecting the livestock. These animals are working, so do not approach them to pet or feed them, nor allow them to follow you and leave their herd. They are NOT abandoned, they are simply doing their job. Avoid approaching livestock and in case cows, sheep or goats are interrupting the path, try to get as far away from them as possible.
