Course on Digital Transformation and Marketing in the Tourism Sector

OBJECTIVES

  • To present the current technologies that are transforming the tourism experience.
  • To train in the use of new information and communication technologies for the promotion of their own businesses and Onís as an ecotourism destination.
  • Raise awareness of the importance of designing an online communication strategy.
  • To teach how to design, plan and execute online marketing campaigns in tourism companies and destinations.
  • Training in the use of different tools for the creation of marketing materials for online publication.

TARGET

  • Individuals and businessmen working in the tourism industry
  • Priority will be given to people registered in and/or linked to the council of Onís.
  • Previous training and/or work experience in the tourism sector will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of English and other languages would be an asset.

SELECTION CRITERIA: Entrepreneurs and workers in the tourism sector and links with the council of Onís.

ADMISSION CONFIRMATION: November 9, 2022

CERTIFICATION: Students will receive a certificate of attendance, for which they must have attended at least 80% of the course hours.

Program

The course is based on 7 thematic blocks with theoretical contents and practical exercises from the PC or cell phone.

MONDAY, November 14

Module 1. Technological changes that are transforming tourism (4 hours)

  • Technologies that are transforming tourism (1 hour)
  • Marketing and communication in the 21st century (3 hours)

TUESDAY, November 15

Module 2. Communicating with your customers in the 21st century (4 hours)

  • Social networks (2 hours)
  • Chatbots (0.5 hours).
  • WhatsApp Business (1.5 hours)

WEDNESDAY, November 16

Module 3. Digital Marketing I (4 hours)

  • The company’s website as the center of the strategy (1.5 hours).
  • SEO positioning and Inbound marketing or content marketing (2.5 hours)

THURSDAY November 17

Module 4. Digital Marketing II (4 hours)

  • Local positioning with Google My Business (1.5 hours)
  • Videomarketing (2,5 hours)

MONDAY, November 21

Module 5. Digital Marketing III. Social Networks (4 hours)

  • Social Networks on the Internet. What they are and how to select the most appropriate for each business (1)
  • Facebook (1 hour)
  • Instagram (1 hour)
  • Advertising campaigns on Instagram and Facebook: the ad tool (1 hour).

TUESDAY, November 22

Module 6. Tools for the management of tourism establishments (4 hours)

  • Introduction: new technologies for tourism management (0.5 hours)
  • Lodging management: PMS, cannel manager and booking engines (1 hour)
  • Tools for the reservation and management of tourist and cultural activities (1 hour)
  • Tools for bar and restaurant management (1 hour)
  • Grants and subsidies for the adoption of technologies in the tourism sector (0.5 hour)

WEDNESDAY, November 23

Module 7. Simple tools for content creation: Canva.com (4 hours)

WHAT DOES THE COURSE QUALIFY FOR?

At the end of the training, participants will learn about the technological tools applicable to the tourism sector in all areas: management, communication, customer service, creation of new experiences, etc.

They will also be able to design and carry out their own marketing strategy on the Internet, both in terms of tourism marketing platforms, as well as through their own website, social networks and other channels currently used.

They will learn easy-to-use tools for the creation of audiovisual content that can support their marketing, communication and customer service strategy.
