OBJECTIVES
- To offer a training and employment alternative to young people.
- Promote the good use of the area’s natural resources.
- To promote and enhance the value of rural tourism and ecotourism in the region.
- Promoting physical activity as a healthy good
- Raise social awareness among the target population.
TARGET
- Population aged from 17 years old (provided that they turn 18 in the year of the course – 2024) to 30 years old. It will be open to those over 30 years of age if the quota of participants (15 students) is not covered.
- Young people linked to the Concejo de Onís and neighboring councils of the Picos de Europa region.

SELECTION CRITERIA: Link to the Concejo de Onís and the Picos de Europa Region.
CERTIFICATION: Once the students have passed the theoretical-practical phase and completed the internships, they will receive an official diploma approved by the Youth Council of the Principality of Asturias.

Of these, 80% will correspond to the contents set out in the minimum program established by the Regional Ministry of the Principality of Asturias, and the remaining 20% will be related to the different resources and products of the Onís Tourism Sustainability Plan.

It is a degree that opens up many job opportunities and certifies you to be able to perform and play-educational activities with young children:
- Camp Monitor
- Leisure entertainer in hotels and leisure parks
- Organizer of cultural or leisure workshops
- Gym or sports club instructor
- Educator in after-school activities and school excursions
It is an official and nationally valid qualification.
In addition, it will allow you to develop social skills and improve your communication, leadership and teamwork skills. You will learn to interact with different people and create an inclusive and fun environment for all participants.
WHAT DOES THE COURSE QUALIFY FOR?
The qualification obtained will allow to legally carry out leisure and free time activities with children, youth and adults in activities such as camps, hostels, farm-schools, nature classrooms, work camps, leisure establishments, children and youth transport, toy libraries, youth centers, extracurricular academies, children’s centers, schools, day centers…
In addition, being a recreational instructor provides the opportunity to improve communication, leadership and teamwork skills. You will learn to interact with different people and create an inclusive and fun environment for all participants.
